About EP Hand & Arm Rehab

The therapy provided at this facility is not limited to the hands. We treat the entire body; however we specialize in hands and arms. The name of the facility originated when I was an employee at Vista Sol Hospital. Dr. Manuel Filiberti MD, a prominent plastic and hand surgeon, oversaw the Department of Physical Medicine at the hospital. I have developed a very close and personal relationship with Dr. Filiberti. When I left my job with Vista Sol Hospital Dr. Filiberti asked if I would like to open a hand therapy / rehabilitation center to treat his patients, as he realized the great improvement they got when I worked with them and my attention to details. At the time, the apparel / apparel industry in El Paso was one of the strongest in the United States due to the multiple Levi Strauss, Wrangler, Farah Inc., and other subcontractor plants that were in business here. Workers often develop a series of hand injuries, mostly as a result of repetitive motion or cumulative trauma due to the nature of the job functions they performed. Once the garment industry left El Paso and went to third world countries, I expanded my practice of treating whole body injuries, however the name remains the same.

I was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1987 and achieved the rank of captain. My last assignment was the William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Provided occupational therapy treatment to active duty, dependent and retired soldiers. It was an honor and a privilege to serve the United States of America.

I strive for a facility that provides state-of-the-art equipment, the experience necessary to treat the injuries they are known for, and to maximize their potential. My main goal is to help you be able to perform or resume your activities of daily living (ADL), including work, home, and play as you were able before your injury or surgery. The therapy and rehabilitation that I offer are the activities and exercises to achieve independence with purpose.

Sincerely ;

Rocky J Romero OTR (Program Director)
